Cyber attacks via ransomware have reached a new record

Payments for ransomware were at a record high last year while data leaks and ransom demands also increased, according to the cyber division at Palo Alto Networks(PAN). PAN’s report on the ransomware threat for 2022 was published stating that the average payment for ransomware in 2021 rose by 78% from 2020, reaching a record of $541,010. Average ransom demand also increased by 144%, reaching $2.2 million. Read more on this page.
